What I like about my job

Our clients have some truly amazing technology and I love that we get to see it at the very start of its development and evolve into real-world contributions. As IP advisers we help guide the growth and direction of an IP portfolio and it can be very rewarding when that helps lead to a significant milestone for a client, such as a licensing deal or a granted patent.

Despite being a typically “desk based” job, I love that people and teamwork are at the heart of what we do. We liaise with inventors, CEOs, patent examiners and overseas attorneys; each day brings many opportunities to work alongside brilliant and engaging individuals. Patent strategy often involves balancing a number of commercial, legal and scientific considerations and I enjoy problem solving with my colleagues to work out the best approach for our clients.

In my spare time…

Outside of work I like to get outside and get moving, so I can often be found at my local bouldering wall or running along a canal in East London. On weekends I like to explore further afield and love long hikes in nature; Brecon Beacons is a beautiful place that I love to visit as much as possible.

Jumping firmly on the lockdown trend, I have also taken up gardening and try to fit as many plants and pots as possible into my tiny garden.

What I am looking forward to

Impact IP is a new venture and I’m so excited to be part of an enthusiastic and talented team that are brimming with ideas for the years ahead. I’m looking forward to seeing how we build and grow the business as the months go on.
